LEADING pharmaceuticals company Wyeth Laboratories has appointed Fleetlease to manage its 670-strong vehicle fleet. The move follows Wyeth's acquisition last year of Cyanamid, which saw the size of its car fleet increase by more than 50% prompting a reassessment of its fleet management requirements.

Based in Maidenhead, Wyeth previously managed its fleet in-house while Cyanamid used external suppliers. Fleetlease was appointed after a four-way tender and will provide a fleet management service including vehicle acquisition and disposal, maintenance and breakdown cover and accident management. Over half the vehicles are used by the company's UK sales force with the remainder made up of management and distribution vehicles.
