LLOYDS Bank Card Services has introduced a defensive driving programme for all its senior management and account executives as part of a major safety initiative. West Midlands based Defensive Driver Training will conduct the one day courses for the 30 to 40 drivers.

Bernie Hollywood, regional sales manager of Lloyds Bank Card Services said: 'We have now built the one day course into our induction programme for new staff and after 18 months we intend to run the trained drivers through a refresher course to remind them of the salient points of defensive driving.' Subsequent savings in insurance costs will be a bonus, and Hollywood said reducing the risk of injury remained the prime motivation.
