NATIONAL Tyres and Autocare is offering free emissions tests in 85 of its outlets across the country. The initiative is part of a wider industry Clean Air Campaign launched by Fleet News on the Net's sister title AutoTrade which aims to address the issue of reducing vehicle emissions.

As part of a free safety check for customers, National intends to encourage driver awareness of the importance of reducing emissions levels, with each 'safe' vehicle receiving a green 'I've passed' car sticker. So far more than 10,000 'I'm clean' stickers - similar to road fund discs - have been distributed through the trade for drivers to tell the world their cars have been checked and are environmentally OK.

Motorists wanting to take up the offer can call free on 0800 281681 to find their nearest branch and book an appointment. Garages wanting to participate in the campaign can receive an AutoTrade Campaign starter pack containing 100 campaign stickers at £10 per 100, A2 and A3 posters, plus consumer leaflets explaining the Campaign. For a pack phone 01733 467113 or fax 01733 467120.
