Skoda Felicia goes diesel

SKODA will be introducing diesel power to the Felicia range later this year when Volkswagen's 64bhp 1.9 engine becomes available. The Felicia 1.9 D will be available in hatchback and estate variants when it arrives in the UK in GLi specification only.

Maximum speed is 97mph, but more importantly, fuel consumption (using the old EC criteria), is 61.4mpg at 56mph, 42.2mpg at 75mpg and 37.2mpg in town. Standard equipment includes immobiliser, driver's airbag, power steering and central locking for an on-the-road price of £8,349 for the hatch and £9,149 for the estate.
