FLEET Cost Management has secured a solus deal to provide 300 Citroen cars and vans to London-based facilities management specialist The Building and Property Group. The first 16 of the vehicles, which will be mainly C15 vans, have been delivered to cover the Portsmouth area. Others will follow as vehicles on the mainly Ford fleet are due for replacement over the next 12-18 months.

The group, one of the UK's leading providers of facilities management and outsourced services, counts among its customers the Ministry of Defence as well as public and private sector clients. The Citroen vans and a number of Xantia cars are needed to support the provision of services, including on-site consultation and property maintenance.

The group previously operated its fleet on contract hire with another unnamed supplier, but has now opted to acquire the vehicles through FCM's Lease Plus product. Citroen vehicles, which will be operated on a four-year replacement cycle, have replaced Fords on the basis of value for money and low running costs, according to Balderson. FCM is also managing all vehicle maintenance for the group through its card.
