Vectra and Omega to get OnStar option

VAUXHALL'S new satellite-based communication system, OnStar, will be launched on Vectra and Omega models in the spring. OnStar will be an option on the two models, but no decision has yet been made as to whether it will be standard on other models.

OnStar allows a driver to call for a series of services, including roadside and emergency assistance, traffic information, route guidance and information services at the touch of a button on the car's telephone. Pushing the button connects the driver with Vauxhall's 24-hour information centre which pinpoints the car via a global positioning system.
