VAUXHALL has renewed a quartet of major fleet solus and preferred supply deals covering a maximum of almost 6,000 vehicles. The company this week announced new contracts with SmithKline Beecham, Laing Construction, George Wimpey plc and Comcast Europe which take the manufacturer into the next century.

SmithKline Beecham renewed preferred supplier status with Vauxhall following an intensive study and market evaluation. John Laing Construction chose Vauxhall as sole supplier after a rigorous selection process involving six manufacturers. Homebuilder Wimpey invited a number of manufacturers to prepare and present their case to supply the 1,600 mainly car fleet. Vauxhall will be supplying vehicles to Comcast Europe into the next century after renewing its 900-strong solus deal with the communications company.

Vauxhall's fleet operations director Mike Bonner said: 'Winning through a selection process to retain business underlines the value of our investment in comprehensive product and operational support. The emphasis we put on maintaining very high standards of customer support seem to pay dividends time and again.'
