THE Government should not seek to raise more revenue from taxing company car drivers but should restructure the existing system. That's the view of the RAC which in its submission on the Government's integrated transport policy document says the company car tax take is equitable.

The RAC also believes local taxing on private non-residential parking is worth investigating and, while it has reservations about both urban road pricing and the tolling of inter-urban motorways both could prove acceptable if cash raised is dedicated to new investment in transport.
