Lex wins 250-vehicle Ibstock deal

IBSTOCK Building Products has extended its fleet holding period to four years after signing a solus supply deal for its 250 vehicles with Lex Vehicle Leasing. Ibstock went out to tender with 19 suppliers for its user-chooser fleet before appointing Lex to supply full maintenance contract hire on a four-year, 100,000 miles basis.

John Child, Ibstock group purchasing manager, said he was impressed with Lex's nationwide One Call service, its comprehensive accident management facility, and high service levels. 'Increasing to four years saved us around £28 per month, which meant we could offer drivers a higher grade of car and a better choice with that money, something which is important in an industry such as ours where competition for staff is high,' he said. 'Moving to four years also means we have to change phones less often and that we avoid a round of manufacturer price increases in the fourth year.'
