THE importance of the company car to British business is to be stressed by Association of Car Fleet Operators' chairman Tony Leigh in forthcoming meetings with both the Conservative Party and the Liberal Democrats.

In the run-up to the forthcoming general election Leigh believes it is vital that the major political parties have an understanding of the role of the company car within the economy.

He has already met Labour transport spokesman Andrew Smith and described the meeting as 'very useful'. Now he is waiting to fix meeting dates with junior transport minister John Bowis and Liberal Democrat transport spokesman David Chidgey.
