Diesel drops again after last month's rise

FLEET diesel sales fell last month by 2.4% in a total diesel market which dropped 4.9% following increases in both sectors in January.

Of the 27,506 diesel cars sold last month (February 1996: 28,938) 16,892 (February 1996: 17,300) went to fleets. Peugeot was the number one fleet diesel manufacturer last month with the best-selling fleet diesel car in the 306. For the year-to-date Ford is the top-selling fleet diesel manufacturer and the Mondeo the best-selling fleet diesel car.
