EUROPE'S largest fleet accident management company has been created by a joint venture between VELO Insurance Services and Aon Risk Services. The company, called VELO Motor Accident Management, will manage more than 110,000 fleet cars, vans and heavy commercials from its May 1 launch, and is expected to handle between 150 and 200 new claims per day. VELO and Aon will each own half of the company, which will operate from VELO's head office in Marlow.

The company will offer 24-hour emergency service, incident control and repair management, claims handling, uninsured loss recovery, risk management reporting, advice and policy implementation, and premium negotiation and placement. Additional services include a European travel service, driver excess management scheme and a driver training programme. It will have a combined operational staff of more than 120 insurance experts from both companies.

VELO will continue to operate as a separate company providing vehicle management and financing services - AON was already one of its customers - and VELO's managing director David Voss will also be managing director of the new venture.
