VAUXHALL has enhanced its parts distribution operation by appointing a new logistics company to service its 470-strong dealer network. It has chosen Swift Service, the industrial division of Salvesen Logistics, as its contractor. Its highly-developed traffic management systems will interface with Vauxhall's system.

This means earlier delivery times nationwide, wider availability of parts, and benefits to cost and environmental impact, thanks to the number of miles travelled being cut by up to 35%.

Vauxhall customer service and logistics manager Paul Barden said: 'Put together, this offers Vauxhall dealers a parts distribution service second to none. We found that Swift technology ideally matched our state of the art distribution system. Everybody gains - dealers, customers and the environment.'
