ACCIDENT management company Town and Country Assistance has teamed up with credit hire specialist Helphire to launch a 'no-fault, no-cost' package for fleets. Fleetunique combines a full accident management package from Town and Country with the services of Helphire, which specialises in car hire and repair services on credit for those involved in accidents which were not their fault.

In the event of a crash, the Fleetunique team will determine whether the driver has been at fault, before deciding whether the case should be handled purely on an accident management basis or through Helphire. If the accident is deemed to be non-fault, Helphire will supply a replacement hire car - in the same class as the damaged car - and arrange repairs with a garage or bodyshop at no cost to the fleet. The bills will then be claimed directly from the at-fault driver's insurer.

Fleets which use Fleetunique will be given a number to call in the event of an accident. This will get them through to Town and Country's Ipswich headquarters where two Helphire implants will also be based. Helphire estimates that a quarter of a typical 100-vehicle fleet's accidents are non-fault and says Fleetunique can save such customers thousands of pounds in car hire and repair costs outlay.
