PHH and Hertz in rental link

PHH Vehicle Management Services has launched a new self-managed rental service for fleets in conjunction with Hertz Rent-a-Car. The new service has been launched to complement PHH's existing managed rental package for fleets which operates in conjunction with a number of rental companies.

PHH has launched the new package in response to requests from clients who say they frequently do not require many of the services often built into standard rental packages. The fleet management specialist claims it can reduce car hire costs by an average of 20% by shopping around on behalf of its clients using its managed service.

Clients can access not only cars, but vans, trucks and even specialised items of plant via a single freephone number and pay a fixed daily rate.

The new service allows clients to select options according to their drivers' specific requirements and set their own levels of control. The basic hire cost does not include additional facilities such as one-way hire or vehicle collection, which are charged at market rates.
