FAST-FIT company ATS has won a £1 million contract with Newbury-based Fleetlease as the preferred tyre supplier for the company's 12,000-strong fleet. ATS said a combination of competitive pricing, the ATS nationwide mobile fitting service and a high level of customer service clinched the deal.

Tony Palmer, Fleetlease's new tyre maintenance controller, an ATS implant, will co-ordinate and operate the one-call Fleetlease Tyreline and provide customer support from the leasing and fleet management company's headquarters. With a spend of around £450,000 on tyres in the first six months of 1997, Fleetlease decided to develop the new service, in conjunction with ATS, to create a single point of contact for drivers requiring tyre information.

Malcolm Roberts, Fleetlease maintenance manager, said: 'It is important for us to offer our drivers the best service available with the least amount of inconvenience. drivers will be given the option of going directly to a recommended centre, or we can arrange a mobile, or collection and delivery service - something drivers will appreciate when they have busy schedules.'
