Thomas takes over helm at Lease Plan

LEASE PLAN has appointed operations director Howard Thomas to succeed Vahid Daemi as managing director. Thomas, 44, who worked at Renault and Europcar before joining Lease Plan in 1991, is the company's first managing director to have a motor industry rather than finance background.

The position was created by Daemi's promotion to the board of managing directors of Dutch parent company ABN-AMRO Lease Holding last summer.
