TRAFFICMASTER has teamed up with Jaguar to launch a combined navigation system and congestion warning device in the new S-type, which made its debut at the British International Motor Show. It is the first Jaguar to be specified with a fully integrated, on-board satellite navigation system.

As well as the more commonly known features of satellite navigation systems, it includes live information from Trafficmaster, so a driver adopting a chosen route can be warned whether it is congested. If a driver deviates from a route to avoid congestion, the system will then recalculate the best way to get to the destination.

In future, the system, which is a £2,525 factory-fit option, will automatically offer an alternative route around the congestion. Information will come from Trafficmaster's network of sensors on trunk road and motorways throughout Britain, and will also offer coverage of Germany in the future.
