ENVIRONMENTAL solutions company Enviros has signed a deal worth more than £1 million to convert part of its fleet to liquefied petroleum gas. It has bought 10 LPG Toyota Corollas from Bradford-based Perrys Toyota to join its 80-strong fleet.

Perrys Toyota is the first company in the UK to be given permission to convert Toyota cars to liquefied petroleum gas and is supplying vehicles with a three-year/60,000-mile warranty. It will offer conversions for the entire model range with work carried out by Perrys Autogas Systems. A spokeswoman for Enviros said: 'We have trialled LPG vehicles from several manufacturers in the past and decided to convert part of the fleet. If this move goes well then it could lead to the entire fleet being converted.'

Gary Goodyear, general manager of Perrys, said: 'Normal warranty for LPG cars is a year. In order to make these conversions possible, Perrys will provide its own, equal warranty for the additional period.' Operators interested in dual-fuel Toyotas can contact Perrys on 01274 730730.
