LEX Vehicle Leasing has won a contract to supply and renew up to 150 vehicles on contract hire for the new Scottish Environment Protection Agency. Under the deal, Lex will purchase and leaseback about 18 vehicles and supply the rest on contract hire as several agreements with other contract hire operators come to an end.

The agency was created from different Government organisations in Scotland in 1995 and by bringing together separate departments, differing fleet arrangements were also combined. Lex Vehicle Leasing will become the sole supplier to the agency and take over fleet management work. As part of the fleet of 100 cars and 50 commercial vehicles being provided by Lex Vehicle Leasing, the agency is trying a liquefied petroleum gas Ford Mondeo.
