BSM Fleet Training has teamed up with fleet motor insurance company Iron Trades to offer discounted rates and premium rebates for policyholders. The move is the first of a range of insurance company tie-ups due to be announced by BSM Fleet Training over the next few months, as the company seeks to win a wider commitment for driver training from the insurance industry.

BSM Fleet Training's managing director Chris Reynolds said: 'Over the past 12 months we have placed a special emphasis on developing the relationship between driver training and insurance companies and brokers so that their long-held commitment to training is actually reflected in financial terms. Too many partnerships exist in word alone - what we hope to create is a full and active commitment from insurers to their customers.'

Iron Trades insures more than 70,000 vehicles through its fleet account. Charles Harris, senior motor fleet underwriter at Iron Trades, said attractive premium rebates would be available on completion of the courses, which would be offered to the company's intermediaries at specially discounted rates.
