DAEWOO is appointing 26 dedicated fleet sales specialists for key showrooms around the UK. The new personnel will work from centres in major cities, towns and business communities such as Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester and Leeds and will also serve the surrounding areas. The move is part of Daewoo's on-going campaign to win fleet business, which stepped up a gear with the arrival of the manufacturer's new models - the Lanos, Nubira and Leganza - last autumn.

At the time Daewoo increased its fleet team to nine, with the appointment of public sector manager Graham Vaughan. The new fleet specialists will be based at every Daewoo Motor Show outlet and at most Daewoo Car Centres in key areas. The first appointments are due to be made this month with the remainder in place by April.

More than 2,000 of Daewoo's new models have gone into fleet since their launch and Daewoo is hoping its fleet registrations will pass the 10,000 mark this year. The upper medium Leganza is accounting for 35% of all fleet orders, with most buyers opting for the top-of-the-range CDX derivative.
