FLEET News is to hold a Budget Breakfast for fleet chiefs to find out from fleet and tax experts the impact on their business of Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown's March 17 Budget. The Breakfast will be held on March 24 starting at 8.30am and will last for about two hours, with the venue being a hotel in the London area.

Speakers at the event will be Vauxhall Motors tax experts Mike Bacon, General Motors' European tax counsel, and Mark Sutherland, tax manager GM UK tax staff, and Stewart Whyte, managing director of Fleet Audits and Fleet News columnist, who will be sponsored by Kwik-Fit Fleet, and a representative of a contract hire and leasing company.

The proposal to hold the Breakfast will be conditional on the Chancellor's Budget speech containing, as is being predicted in some quarters, significant changes to company car taxation which could result in a major increase in personal contract purchase schemes. Delegates will be charged £50 each to attend the Breakfast. To register your interest in attending contact Jazz Walshe on 01733 467048 or e-mail her on jazzw@automotive.emap.co.uk
