FAST-growing GE Capital Fleet Services' European fleet has hit the 300,000 mark and its UK fleet - the largest in Europe - now exceeds 90,000 vehicles. The European landmark means that GE Capital Fleet Services has more than doubled its fleet size since entering the European market more than five years ago with its acquisition of Avis Fleet Services.

The company operates in 27 European countries with - after Britain - the largest fleets operating in France, Sweden - where it has around 50,000 vehicles - the Iberian peninsula, Italy and Belgium and Germany where the company has 10,000-20,000 vehicles.

GE Capital Fleet Services believes it has only conquered the tip of the European fleet iceberg with European chief executive officer Dan Farrar saying that growth was being driven by the twin powers of a high quality service and competitive prices.
