FLEETS are being targeted for practical risk management advice from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. In a concerted campaign RoSPA is mailing out thousands of copies of a new booklet designed to help fleet operators minimise their drivers' exposure to risk on the road.

RoSPA's latest drive for road safety comes after new research confirmed that company car drivers are 40% more likely to have an accident than private drivers, with high-mileage drivers exposed to a similar level of risks as a coal miner. The booklet will be reinforced with a series of practical risk management seminars up and down the country over the next 12 months. Entitled 'Managing Occupational Road Risk', the booklet is a detailed step by step guide to identifying risks and training drivers to avoid them.
