VAUXHALL has confirmed a £50 million solus fleet car and van contract with Yorkshire Water, it was announced at the Fleet Motor Show. The deal will see 1,400 cars and car-derived vans supplied annually for the next three to five years to the Yorkshire Water consortium.

The Yorkshire Water group of companies previously ran Rover cars and Ford vans but now the fleet will be solus Vauxhall. The bulk of the early cars to be supplied will be Vectras, with air conditioning and Trafficmaster. Later orders are likely to include an increasing number of new Astras.

Yorkshire Water procurement manager Dennis Smith said: 'The strength of the product range and lowest total cost made it an easy choice to contract with Vauxhall.'
