SEAT UK should soon be ready to start tackling the job of positioning its vital new competitor for company car sales. Factory officials are now considering pricing and specification plans for the next-generation Toledo range which have been submitted by the Spanish company's British sales arm.

'SEAT UK is expanding and we are happy with the results which are being achieved. We have great admiration for the professional way our colleagues here go about their business,' SEAT S.A. export market chief Julio Moro Alonso said during a visit to the Fleet Motor Show. He said SEAT had high hopes for the new Toledo, which was seen as being particularly well suited to UK requirements. 'It is a good looking car of high quality and should go on offer at competitive pricing,' he added.

SEAT UK business marketing manager Robert Couldwell said hopes were also high for the latest Arosa, which sets a fresh fuel economy standard by covering 78.9mpg. 'This is the only diesel-powered contender in the compact supermini sector, so we regard it as the ultimate city car,' he said.
