INTERNATIONAL software design company Computer Associates has signed a solus pan-European deal for its 1,600-strong fleet with Lease Plan. Computer Associates was eager to introduce a consolidated European-wide company car policy which would make the whole management of its vehicles more effective.
The company has also consolidated its fleet choice list to just two manufacturers, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen-Audi. Discussions between Lease Plan and Computer Associates began last November, and were concluded with an arrangement which will see Lease Plan acquire, fund, manage and dispose of Computer Associates' cars in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Scandinavia, Spain and the UK.
The Open Calculation contract includes full outsourcing with direct driver contact, insurance, and the supply of daily rental vehicles. Lease Plan will also manage the run out of Computer Associates' existing contracts with other suppliers, believed to number about 40 across the continent.
