PALM-top power is set to make the lives of fleet managers a little easier as National Tyres and Autocare takes a technological leap. National is introducing palm top computers to all the company's branches and mobile units in an attempt to improve response times to customers' demands.

Through the small device, all of the branches and mobile units will be connected to head office, allowing National to provide instant and accurate invoicing to companies, and get immediate printouts of the work carried out or recommended.

Roger Hawkins, car fleet marketing manager at National, said: 'Our continued investment in technology will enable us to give our customers an unrivalled service. The palm top computers are just the next step in a series of technology-driven initiatives we will be launching over the next 12 months aimed at improving our response time to individual customer demands while enhancing our account management and information procedures.'
