EMAP Automotive, publisher of Fleet NewsNet, has bought motor industry newspaper Automotive Management for an undisclosed sum. The title, which focuses on the franchised dealer market, will play a crucial role in Emap Automotive's motor industry strategy.

In a separate deal, sister title Automotive International has been sold to Detroit-based Crain Communications, owner of Automotive News and Automotive News Europe. Both titles were published by Leading Edge and founding editorial director Tony Cheverall and fellow founder Steve Crowhurst will assist EMAP Automotive with the integration of Automotive Management.

EMAP Automotive managing director Rob Barrowman said: 'We're thrilled to have purchased Automotive Management. We've long been admirers of the title and the people behind it. We are all looking forward to working even closer with the franchised dealer sector.'
