Prescott seeks 15% rail use rise

DEPUTY Prime Minister John Prescott has set a target increase of a 15% rise in passenger rail use by 2002 as part of his strategy to promote public transport and restrict car use.

If achieved it would see an extra 200,000 people a day travelling by train.
