A NEW website is promising to save new car buyers up to 40% on cars imported from Europe. Totalise Carsave will act as an intermediary between customers and dealers, offering the 'best prices in Europe'.

The firm will also provide assistance and administration with the VAT issues, vehicle registration and paperwork involved in importing a car to the UK. Peter Gregory, chief executive of Totalise, said: 'We have developed a website where a consumer can find cost savings on cars in Europe - exactly the same model that is available in this country - and save thousands of pounds.'

He said that all vehicles imported would only come from recognised dealers, would have a 150-point pre-delivery inspection, and would be delivered to the customer's door.
