BMW will launch new 3-series Touring models next month, after their UK debut at the show. Two petrol models will be available initially - the 318i SE and the 328i SE - followed by the 320d SE, powered by BMW's 2.0-litre direct injection, 136bhp diesel engine, in January 2000.

The 318SE and 328I SE Touring go on sale on November 17, the first costing £22,095 and the second £28,995. The 320d SE, which achieves 49.6mpg, will cost £23,545 and the 330d SE £27,895. There is more luggage space than the previous Touring - up to 1,345 litres - and the rear screen opens independently of the tailgate. The maximum load capability is 540kg plus a 1,800kg trailer.
