HUMBERSIDE Police, which already includes 145 Proton Persona and Compact cars on its fleet, is evaluating the new Proton Compact GTi developed in conjunction with Lotus.

The 1.8-litre 133bhp car is capable of making the 0-60mph dash in 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 126mph. The force is planning to make all patrol cars Protons.
