MITSUBISHI'S price cuts announced this month have resulted in its new Shogun Pinin off-roader being up to £2,000 less than was originally planned. The entry-level i model will cost £13,995 on-the-road, the GLX £14,995 and the GLS £16,995.

Mitsubishi was estimating prices of between £15,000 and £19,000 on-the-road for the line-up which goes on sale on January 1. All models are fitted with the company's 1.8-litre 16-valve GDI (gasoline direct injection) engine which produces 118bhp and 128lb-ft of torque, offering a top speed of 104mph and 0-62mph acceleration in 10.2 seconds.
