Ford buys hi-tech electronics firm

THE switch of motor sport technology to mainstream vehicles will be accelerated with Ford's acquisition of the Cambridge-based Pi Group, a leading supplier of hi-tech electronics to the automotive industry, particularly motor sport. Pi is said to be a world leader in technology for tomorrow's vehicles.

As well as a specialist in software engineering, audio, driver information and in-car navigation systems. Pi will operate as an independent subsidiary of Ford's Research and Vehicle Technology group.
