REAL-time data on a company's fleet is to be delivered by PHH Business Solutions to customers in the new year with the UK launch of PHH InterActive. The password protected internet site will signal the death of hard-copy reports and floppy disks detailing fleet information downloaded from PHH's database.

PHH InterActive was launched in the USA two years ago and the Swindon-based company is now working with a handful of its leading fleet customers ahead of launching the system in the UK. The site information includes all vehicle and driver data, maintenance histories, fuel records, driver safety records and accident data. Costs have yet to be established but the aim of PHH InterActive is to help fleets cut operating costs through improved management of their fleet operations.

John Cullum, president and chief executive of PHH Europe, said: 'We see technology as something which reduces cost and adds value. We are continually thinking about what can be done to help the customer and we want to make sure that the information which gets delivered is really used.'

Fleet chiefs can compile their own customised reports from up-to-the-minute data and, said Cullum: 'Companies can make smarter decisions because they don't have to wait for reports.' PHH says fleet data can be 'sliced and diced' any way and the system puts an end to fleet managers requesting information from PHH in between receiving customised reports on their fleet's performance.
