PRE-REGISTRATION for the 1999 Fleet Show - and Fleet Shows of the future - can now be done on-line via a dedicated internet site. Developed in association with the RAC, the Fleet Show website (click here for details) contains everything visitors need to know in advance of attending the fleet industry's biggest event of the year.

The 1999 Fleet Show is to be held in Halls 2, 3 and 3a at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, on April 27-29, and to help fleet decision-makers plan ahead the new website offers regularly updated show-specific news, a pre-registration section, exhibitor listing, and travel information. Developed by Emap Automotive, publisher of Fleet NewsNet, the site also features information on exhibitors, and an on-line search facility to access fleet topics ranging from alternative fuels to VAT guidance.

Event director Keith Dalton said: 'We had a Fleet Show area on Fleet NewsNet in 1997 and last year, and the number of visitors to that section demonstrated clearly there was a case for a Fleet Show website in its own right. Fleet NewsNet averages about 550,000 'hits' and 20,000 individual user sessions a month, and there's no reason why the show site shouldn't attract similar numbers as it continues to develop with our portfolio of events.'

David Goodchild, publisher - electronic development at Emap Automotive, said: 'The new site reflects the rapidly growing use of the internet as a business tool, and we have used similar criteria in its development to that which made Fleet NewsNet such a success - it's quick, uncluttered, easy to use, and packed with useful fleet-specific information.'
