VAUXHALL has won a £40 million solus deal to supply ADT Fire and Security with 3,500 vehicles. The contract follows last year's merger of three fire and security companies, ADT Security Systems, Thorn Security and Modern Security Systems.

About 60% of the vehicles will be Astra diesel estates used by ADT's service and installation engineers, with the remainder consisting of Vectras and Omegas for the company's sales staff, field operatives and executives. Kevin Reynolds, ADT's fleet manager, said: 'As well as the high standard of its range, we were most impressed by the lifetime costs offered by Vauxhall's single badge deal. Our installation and service teams generate consistently high mileage and therefore the demands placed on our cars are great.'
