TLS has won a £5million solus contract hire deal with East Anglian Ambulance Trust to supply emergency and patient transport vehicles. The company is supplying 100 vehicles as part of a five-year deal. Half, for the accident and emergency service, are wheeled coach modular bodies mounted on a Mercedes chassis cab. The others are Renault Master vans, converted by Wensum Motors of Norwich, for patient transport services.

A Trust spokesman said: 'The partnership with TLS will give the service an affordable solution to vehicle acquisition and routine servicing and maintenance. It is vital that our vehicles give us the clinical and patient focus that we require to deliver our services.' Before the TLS solus supply contract, the ambulance service was running a wide variety of vehicles, some of which were owned and some leased.

TLS has also won a £300,000 five-year solus contract hire deal with Glasgow's Stobhill Hospital, under which the trust's fully-owned non-emergency fleet will be replaced. It is supplying four Ford Transits, three Renault Kangoo vans, a 7.5-tonne box van and a passenger transport services ambulance, derived from a Renault Master van.
