LEASE Plan claims fleet management will be revolutionised with the launch today of an internet-based fleet management product designed to slash administration costs and allow fleet managers to be instantly updated on the operation of their fleets.

Lease Plan On-Line is available to all users of its Open Calculation product and will enable virtually paperless fleet management, with the company claiming it will save more than 156,000 hours a year of customers' time. Customers will be able request brochures and information, receive quotations, submit orders and receive updates on running costs.

Nick Salkeld, commercial director of Lease Plan, said: 'The real difference between a successful company and an unsuccessful one in the year 2000 will be its ability to add value and, to Lease Plan, that means investment in technology. This allows for customers to enhance account management efficiency and reduces time spent on administration.' Among fleets which have had the system on test are health providers Bupa and Baxter Healthcare.
