PEUGEOT is undertaking a radical shake-up of its in-house daily rental service with the launch of a freephone central reservations and bookings service. This means that fleet operators will no longer have to make calls to local dealerships in an attempt to source a Peugeot rental car, but will instead go through a central service which will handle the whole process.

General manager of the Peugeot Corporate Rental Programme, Ian Tebbs, says he expects an increase in rental business from small to medium fleets as a result of the changes, which will also see a pricing review to make the rentals more competitive.

From the launch of the service on July 1, fleets will be able to call in on 0800 212349 and open an account, which is billed centrally on a monthly basis, cutting administration time. All of the vehicles on the rental fleet, which is expected to top 2,000 this summer, will be less than six months old and serviced and maintained by Peugeot.
