FLEET managers, desperate for more information on their fleet's carbon dioxide emission performance, have had yet another hurdle thrown in their path with the Government saying it has run out of the booklets which contain all the essential information.

Fleet decision-makers, waking up to the potential changes to company car tax in 2002 when it is set to be based on CO2 emissions rather than mileage, have found that it is no longer possible to obtain the Vehicle Certification Agency booklet 'New Car Fuel Consumption Figures', which contains all the CO2 figures.

The agency, part of the Department of the Environment, Transport and Regions, admits it has run out of the booklets and says no others will be available until the updated copy is released in July. The VCA says it is still possible for fleets to get the CO2 figures if they can accept a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet on their PC.
