THE radical shake-up within the Colt Car Company, official importer of Mitsubishi vehicles to the UK, which only recently saw more than 50 jobs axed at its head office, has continued with the sudden departure of two directors. Piers Skelton, director of after sales and information services and Tom Harris, director of finance, have both terminated their employment with Mitsubishi.

The two resignations are the latest upheaval in the senior management of the importer following the departure of managing director Stephen Dixon, director of sales Andrew Wenzel, director of marketing Colin Peirce and corporate sales manager David Lingwood. As with these directors the responsibilities of Harris and Skelton will be taken on by a new general manager group which was formed as a result of the restructuring.

A Mitsubishi spokesman explained the sudden departure saying: 'Harris and Skelton were given the opportunity to resign following the discovery of circumstances which the company considered to be a fundamental breach of their employment contracts. No further comment or statement will be made on this matter.'
