BRITISH Car Auctions and Honda (UK) combined for another 100% sale success at the Measham auction centre earlier this month. Sixty of the manufacturer's dealerships were represented on the day to bid on the complete Honda product range, including the new Accord, Civic, CR-V, Prelude, HR-V and Shuttle. A total of 188 cars were sold, generating a turnover exceeding £2.1 million.

Dealers bid particularly strongly for the 'old shape' Accords, with examples consistently selling for well above guide values. 98R 2.0i SE four-door models averaged £11,200 or 115% of CAP Clean at 14,000 miles, while 98R 1.8i four-door models achieved an average value of £8,950 or 105% of CAP Clean at 14,500 miles.

New Accord continued to perform strongly, with 98S registered 1.8i S models selling for an average £13,025 or 89% of current list at 5,000 miles and the 2.0i LS models averaging £13,725 or 83.5% of cost new at around 4,800 miles. The HR-V three-door 1.6i M model continued to perform well following on from its used market launch last month, with 99S examples achieving £12,000 equivalent to 86.5% of list price.

Overall the sale achieved 103.27% of CAP Clean, equivalent to 72.1% of cost new across the entire range of Hondas on offer. Alan Gupwell, sales manager manufacturers for BCA, said: 'The Honda sales programme is consistently recording excellent results in the auction hall, underlining the desirability of the product and reflecting the strong retail demand for the Honda range.'
