SHELL UK is closing the fleet department at its Strand headquarters, leaving two staff redundant. The move comes as part of cost-cutting programme which will see the company close one of its London headquarters, Shell-Mex House, and concentrate operations at the second site, Shell Centre, at Waterloo.

The fleet department at Shell-Mex House will not survive the move and will close at the end of October. The redundancies are among about 200 job losses forecast by Shell as a result the move. The fleet has been reduced from 200 to 120 mostly executive cars, plus a few pool and company allocated vehicles and responsibility for the vehicles will now be shared by John Evans at Shell Centre, Gill Lord at the Aberdeen office and Susan Porter at Wythenshawe, Manchester.
