THE Ford Motor Company is looking to develop its internet strategy through a marketing partnership with American-based Internet service provider Yahoo! The Yahoo! partnership is one of a number of internet-based alliances formed by Ford ConsumerConnect since its launch in November last year.

Other initiatives see build-to-order moves being put into action, along with customer service plans to help consumers buy and maintain their vehicles.

The Yahoo! venture was announced in Detroit, where Brian Kelley, president of ConsumerConnect, Ford's e-business and telematics group, said Ford's internet strategy would revolutionise core processes' in Ford's supply chain, dealer network and its relationship with consumers.
