VOLKSWAGEN'S 15 top fleet sales executives and three leading fleet sales managers are heading for Mexico in February after success in the manufacturer's 1999 Fleet Distinction programme. During the year each fleet sales executive and fleet sales manager in the Volkswagen dealer network is measured against their peers on the most important areas of their work such as prospecting, test drives, small business registrations and sales.

Thirty fleet sales executives and 10 fleet sales managers won their way through to the 'Platinum Assessment Centre' held at Grantham in December after being the top staff in the two categories in the network during the year. Each was put through their paces in a day-long series of skills examinations and the 18 will attend Volkswagen's Overseas Business Conference which will be held in Mexico in February 2000.

Fleet Sales Executives on the trip will be: Kevin Turner (Wolsey Ipswich), Matthew Munson (Whites Camberley), Mandie Hayes (Robinsons Autoservices, Norwich), Steven Jalif (Windrush of Slough), Jane Roxburgh (Wayside Milton Keynes), Scott Paddock (Testwood of Totton, Southampton), Peter Stephens (C D Bramall, Cheltenham), Barbara Jones (Blade, Gloucester), Fiona McGhee (Listers Coventry), Michelle Merna (Smith Knight Fay, Stockport), Marc Hardy (Lookers Teeside, Middlesbrough), Gordon Hanna (Mill Garages Northeast, Sunderland), Andrew Clarke (Benfield Motors of Newcastle), Keith McColl (Verve, Wishaw), Neil Robertson (Abercromby of Edinburgh).

Fleet sales managers who qualified are: Ken Clay (Testwood of Tott Bramall, Cheltenham), Carol Kirk (John Fox of Basford, Nottingham). Ken Clay was named Fleet Sales Manager of the Year for the second year in succession and Marc Hardy was named Fleet Sales Executive of the Year.
