INTERLEASING Netherlands has launched a new internet-based ordering system, Interleasing Online, that allows fleet managers and drivers to search, configure and specify their next company car online, reports FNN sister title Fleet News Europe.

The multi-tiered web-facility allows employers to establish their company car choice list grade-by-grade online. Fleet managers can then use the internet system to access and analyse all the data on their own vehicles, and create management reports online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Interleasing, a subsidiary of the Athlon Group, runs a fleet of about 28,000 vehicles in the Netherlands and has invested about 3 million Guilders in the new internet programme that builds on substantial investment in the company's back office IT system.

Norbert van den Eijnden, managing director of Interleasing Netherlands, expects the new web facility to account for about 30% of the company's orders by the end of next year, representing about 3,000 vehicles. This was originally Interleasing's target for the end of 2002, but the speed of change in customer adoption of the internet and the rapid growth of outsourcing within the Dutch fleet arena mean the full service leasing company looks set to achieve its target 12 months early.

The online lease rates relate to the specific terms and conditions negotiated by individual companies, taking into account contract duration and mileage, as well as additional services such as fuel, insurance and replacement cars.

For Interleasing, the new online facility has created an e-work process that improves its own internal efficiency and gives it a new tool for auditing order processing.
