SAAB has uprated its 2.2TiD engine in its 9-3 turbodiesel range so it produces almost 9% more power and 8% more torque, while fuel consumption remains unchanged at 45.6 mpg and CO2 emissions at 164 g/km.

Maximum power is now 125bhp and torque increases to 206lb-ft. The company says in-gear acceleration is now on a par with Saab's petrol engines. Prices also remain unchanged for the three and five-door models starting at £15,995 - £800 below equivalent petrol models.
